5- Use a heating and cooling pad
Alternate heating and cooling can be used to alleviate sciatica symptoms. This method is scientifically proven to relieve pain and inflammation. The cooling process can reduce inflammation and then heat the area to regulate blood flow. Apply an icepack to the area for 15 minutes each hour, and heat it every 2 to 3 hours.
